PSI 2020
Intro: PSI is the “entry level” yet finely crafted wine from Dominio de Pingus, created by renowned winemaker Peter Sisseck in the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. The 2020 vintage shows a somewhat fresher, more accessible style compared to the estate’s top tier labels, yet retains depth, elegance and terroir character. The name “PSI” is inspired by the Greek letter Ψ (Psi) and also the initials of Peter Sisseck. Although more “accessible” than the flagship Pingus wines, PSI is still produced with strict standards, from old vine plots and under the same estate banner. Production is fairly large for an “estate” wine but still limited: around 340,000 bottles for the 2020 vintage.

Tasting Notes: The 2020 PSI, Dominio de Pingus, shows a deep ruby purple colour. The nose reveals red and dark berries; blackberry and black cherry; layered with violet, Mediterranean herbs, subtle spice, and iron mineral undertones. On the palate, it is medium to full bodied with a fresh fruit core, fine tannins, and bright acidity, offering notes of dark fruit, underbrush, and a touch of chocolate and spice over a mineral backbone. The finish is long, lively, and elegant, approachable now yet structured for graceful ageing
