Montlandrie - Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux 2018
Intro: The 2018 Château Montlandrie opens with a deep garnet purple colour and an expressive bouquet of stewed black plums, boysenberries, and blackberry preserves layered with mocha, tar, tobacco leaf and black truffles. On the palate it shows medium to full body, rich dark/blue fruits, earthy accents and finely grained tannins, all lifted by mineral freshness and finishing long and chalky. Château Montlandrie is part of the family of estates of the late Denis Durantou (of Château L’Église Clinet fame) who purchased it in 2009 and started crafting wines in Castillon’s limestone rich plateau.
