Louis XIII Grande Champagne Cognac NV
Intro: Louis XIII is the flagship cognac of the House of Rémy Martin, crafted exclusively from the Grande Champagne cru of the Cognac region in France. It represents the pinnacle of the cognac maker’s craftsmanship: a blend of hundreds to over a thousand eaux de vie (distilled from Ugni Blanc grapes) aged for decades, in special oak barrels (“tierçons”), before being combined into the iconic crystal decanter. The crystal decanter is inspired by a metal flask found on the site of the Battle of Jarnac (1569). Each bottle is individually numbered, and the craftsmanship of the decanter (often Baccarat crystal) adds to its luxury appeal.

Tasting Notes: The NV Louis XIII Grande Champagne Cognac, Rémy Martin shows a deep amber to mahogany hue. The nose reveals layers of honeysuckle, jasmine, dried fruits (fig, apricot), honey, wood spice, leather, and cigar box. On the palate, it is sumptuous and deeply textured with orchard fruit, candied peel, almond, warm spice, and subtle rancio, offering a velvety mouthfeel. The finish is very long, layered, and evolving, with elegant echoes of wood, spice, and mature fruit
