Alea Riesling 2023
Intro: The 2023 Alea Riesling is sourced from Grosset’s own Rockwood Vineyard in the Clare Valley and is crafted in a more European style Riesling tradition. The Alea vineyard is a distinct section of the Rockwood Vineyard, chosen for its hard red rock and poor orangey red loam soils; this micro site yield a noticeably different style of Riesling compared to Grosset’s other parcels. The 2023 vintage is certified organic and biodynamic, unfined and vegan friendly. Although labelled a “Riesling”, Alea intentionally carries a hint of residual sweetness (“off dry” style) to balance the crisp acidity and minerality.
