Gevrey Chambertin 2023

Intro: This 2021 Gevrey Chambertin from Domaine Claude Dugat is a village level Pinot Noir from one of Gevrey’s most respected estates. Known for low yields, old vines, and meticulous viticulture, the wine represents the finesse, minerality and structure of the terroir in a somewhat more accessible form compared with the premier and grand cru bottlings from the same domaine. Domaine Claude Dugat is very small and sought after: the estate has only about six hectares in total, with many of the vines very old and parcels located on prestigious sites in Gevrey Chambertin. For this cuvée, the grapes are 100 % destemmed and vinified with minimal intervention. The estate ferments in concrete vats, punches down the cap gently, uses no filtering and minimal fining. “La Bossière” is one of the key lieux dits for the village Gevrey Chambertin cuvée, with average vine age reported over 50 years for some plots.
